Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the related restrictions on the educational process, the period from 2019 to 2021 was remarkably eventful for Kyiv Institute of Intellectual Property and Law. Above all, this period was marked by the development of cooperation programs with national and European institutions to enhance student employment opportunities.
In February 2019, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Kyiv. The key objective of this agreement was to provide students of the Institute with comprehensive exposure to all practical aspects of notarial activities, the implementation of state legal policy, the enforcement of court decisions, the legalization of civil associations, expert support for justice, and the fight against money laundering. This initiative significantly contributed to the employment of university graduates in Kyiv justice institutions and increased the involvement of practicing professionals in the Institute teaching process.
A similar cooperation agreement was signed between Kyiv Institute and Boryspil City Council, with the participation of the President of NU 'OLA', Sergiy Kivalov, and the Mayor of Boryspil, Anatolii Fedorchuk. The primary focus of this cooperation was the implementation of joint initiatives to meet the educational needs of Boryspil territorial community, the creation of favorable conditions for practical training and internships, and the expansion of employment opportunities for graduates of Kyiv Institute of Intellectual Property and Law of the National University 'Odesa Law Academy'. Additionally, the agreement aimed to coordinate efforts in implementing educational policies within the region.
Similar memorandums were also signed with the law firm 'ARZINGERТА', the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kyiv, and Myronivka City Council of Kyiv Region. All of these agreements aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange between students and professionals, as well as to provide opportunities for students to undergo practical training in the respective institutions. The highly active practice-oriented approach of Kyiv Institute administration resulted in a rapid increase in the number of applicants, students who sought education not merely for the sake of a diploma, but to acquire real practical knowledge and secure employment in their field.
On December 5, 2020, students of Kyiv Institute of Intellectual Property and Law gained the opportunity to undergo military training under the Reserve Officer Training Program. This became possible due to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Institute and Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defense University of Ukraine. The training is conducted using the "military day" method, allowing students to study without interrupting their primary education for two years. Upon completion of the military training program, students will have the opportunity to receive the rank of reserve officer along with their higher education diploma.
This significantly expands their career prospects, particularly in the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the Prosecutor's Office, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and its structural divisions, as well as other law enforcement and military institutions. Graduates of the Institute who complete military training begin their service immediately as officers, assuming corresponding positions.
